Living Room was one of Lizi's first interactive books, and one of her first pieces where she worked to reflect the current political climate through her work. In a society more divided than ever, the idea was to show that people aren’t as different as we often make them seem. The book is built in an accordion style and each page shows a completely different room. The drawings were created so that the rooms fit together seamlessly in whatever way you configure the pages. However unalike people may be on the outside, our insides - as represented by our homes, have many basic similarities. From windows, to places to sit, to books, to pictures, to that leftover Postmates from last night. Lizi wishes that everyone would treat each other as if they were all pages in this book and remember that however differently someone does their hair or spends their money or decorates their home, that they’re human just like you are and should be treated accordingly - pun intended.
